Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
SolarCalcUSA (solarcalcusa.com) is an independent clean energy information website providing free solar, battery storage, and electric vehicle calculators and educational guides for US homeowners. We are not affiliated with any solar installer, utility company, or manufacturer.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information. Specifically:
- We do not require account creation or email signup
- We do not use contact forms that store your data
- We do not use advertising tracking pixels (Facebook, Google Ads, etc.)
- We do not sell or share any user data with third parties
- Calculator inputs (ZIP code, electricity bill) are processed locally in your browser and never sent to our servers
3. Cookies
SolarCalcUSA does not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies. Our website is built with Astro, a static site framework that generates pure HTML/CSS/JavaScript with no server-side session tracking.
Your browser may store standard technical data locally (such as cached page resources) as part of normal browser operation — this is not controlled by us and contains no personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard server log data (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of their infrastructure operation. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
We link to external sources (DSIRE, FuelEconomy.gov, Energy.gov, etc.) for reference purposes. These third-party sites have their own privacy policies which we do not control.
5. Google AdSense (Future)
We may in the future display advertising through Google AdSense. If and when we do, we will update this policy accordingly. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
SolarCalcUSA is not directed at children under 13 years of age and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
Because we do not collect personal information, we have nothing to disclose, sell, or delete under the California Consumer Privacy Act. California residents have no additional rights to exercise with respect to SolarCalcUSA as we hold no personal data.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
